WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)– Collectibles, comics and trading cards drew big crowds Saturday for the Port City Heroes: Collectors Expo.

The Wilmington Convention Center was packed throughout the weekend as hundreds of hobbyists moved table to table to buy, sell and trade a wide variety of items.

Attendees browsed dozens of vendors offering everything from sports cards and Pokémon cards to action figures and handmade art.

Carolina Sports Promotions hosted the event. Owner Chris Dudley says the goal is to share his passion for collecting while creating a space for others to connect.

It’s just sharing my love for collecting,” Dudley said. “Honestly, I do this because it’s fun. I get to see people actually enjoy collecting. It’s a low-stress environment and a great way to relax. I got my kids involved. It’s a great way to connect with my four kids.”

Dudley also says he plans to host another big event during the fall.
