Columbus County deputies seize heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine during Riegelwood search; three arrested

RIEGELWOOD, NC (WWAY) — The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office says three people were arrested after investigators executed a search warrant at a Riegelwood residence and seized multiple controlled substances and more than $9,000 in cash.

According to the sheriff’s office, investigators with the Special Operations Division Vice/Narcotics Unit, along with the Criminal Investigation Division, executed the warrant in July 2026 at 705 Hoover Road, a residence belonging to George Munn.

Authorities say investigators conducted extensive surveillance before the search and found what they described as trafficking amounts of heroin/opium, along with cocaine, methamphetamine, oxycodone, and marijuana. Investigators also seized more than $9,000 in U.S. currency under the North Carolina Unauthorized Substances Tax Act.

George Munn, Gyrell Munn, and Tara Nobles were taken into custody following the investigation.

The sheriff’s office says George Munn faces multiple charges, including two counts of trafficking in opium or heroin, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver Schedule II controlled substances, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver methamphetamine, marijuana-related charges, maintaining a dwelling and vehicle for controlled substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Gyrell Munn and Tara Nobles were each charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver cocaine and marijuana, along with drug paraphernalia charges.

The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office says it will continue investigating illegal drug activity and working with law enforcement partners to address narcotics in the community.
