CPAs volunteer time at Food Bank
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — On a normal day, certified public accounts do tax planning and help businesses understand their finances. But today accountants with the North Carolina CPA Association moved boxes instead of numbers at the Food Bank in Wilmington.
Accountants say they want to give back to the community and actually become more of a team after volunteering.
“I think it is kind of eye-opening to be here today,” Adam Shay said. “It causes you to be a little more compassionate and aware of people’s situations. I want to talk with my team as well and see what we can do on a more regular basis.”
The Food Bank accepts volunteers and donations year round. It’s open on Marstellar Street Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
