Death investigation begins in Wilmington after officer is flagged down
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Radio traffic reveals a death investigation began yesterday after an officer was flagged down in Wilmington.
Two people were found dead in a home off of Masonboro Loop Road in Wilmington.
Before that, an officer told dispatch he was flagged down.
“I just got flagged down in reference to a possible situation where a female wants to hurt a child,” the officer said.
Later, the officer says it is a mother.
“Mother threatening to hurt her child,” the officer said.
New Hanover County property records show a couple bought the home in early May.
Police say the deaths are “suspicious” but could not give any other details at the time. A police lieutenant on scene did tell WWAY there is no threat to the general public.
We are still waiting for more details from police. Stay with WWAY for the latest details as they become available.
