Deputies investigate after potential threat written on school bathroom wall

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Charter Day School in Leland was sheltered in place Tuesday while the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office investigated a potential threat.

According to deputies, something was written on a restroom wall on the middle school side of Roger Bacon Academy’s campus.

Extra deputies were on campus during the investigation.

The sheriff’s office says the threat was unsubstantiated.

“We always investigate and never take anything for granted,” a sheriff’s office spokeswoman told WWAY.
