Deputies investigating Pender Co. shooting

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY ) — Deputies are looking for a person responsible for a convenience store shooting that injured at least one person.

Deputies said it happened just before noon at the Lanier Grocery in the 5300-block of Highway 50 in Maple Hill. When deputies arrived on scene, they said they found one person with a gunshot wound to the arm. Witnesses said another person was shot in the face but was not on scene.

Witnesses told deputies a gunman followed the victims into the parking lot, got out of his car and started firing into the car with three people inside. There’s no word on the third occupant.
