Deputies looking for owners of abandoned horses

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Deputies with the Brunswick County Animal Protective Services are looking for the owners of a horse and pony found abandoned in the Ash area.

Investigators say the two horses were found March 20th, one on Camp Branch Road and Egypt Road. They say the first horse, a female pony was suffering significant injuries and had to be euthanized; the second horse, a brown gelding, looks to be OK.

Investigators are now looking for the person(s) responsible for the animals. They believe they were abandoned here, possibly from outside of the county.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the BSCO Animal Services at 910-754-8204.
