Detectives arrest man in connection to stolen Yeti coolers

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Ocean Isle Beach Police detectives arrested a man in connection to several Yeti coolers stolen over the holiday weekend.

According to a post on the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, William M. Bowers, 24, was arrested and charged with two counts of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and three counts of misdemeanor larceny.

Police said residents in Ocean Isle Beach reported several Yeti coolers stolen from boats, trucks and homes between Saturday to Tuesday of this week. Officers released surveillance photos of the suspect.

Detectives say more charges are pending for Bowers as the investigation continues. He was booked in the Brunswick County Jail under a $15,000 bond.

They also warn the community to be sure these coolers are locked up and put away.
