Devoted doctor dies
The Wilmington area lost a devoted pediatrician and local legend this past weekend.
Dr. George Koseruba, 94, died of congestive heart failure Sunday night at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Koseruba retired just two years ago after a nearly seventy year long career. He came to Wilmington in 1939, where he’s helped heal countless children. His son David said that his father got exactly what he wanted out of life. The Doctor spoke with Newschannel 3 earlier this year about his fruitful career.
“It’s been an awfully joyful ride and the most rewarding ride to work with babies,” Dr. Koseruba said in an interview in April, 2007. “It’s been wonderful!”
Koseruba’s son also said that his father loved this region dearly and felt complete attachment and devotion to all of his patients.
