Documentary to feature Columbus County Animal Shelter
COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A documentary about animal rescues and rural animal shelters will feature the Columbus County Animal Shelter.
In a news release, Columbus County Animal Control Manager Joey Prince says documentarian Denise Carey-Costa will feature how shelters partner with rescue organizations to save dogs and cats and how the rescues find homes for abandoned and often abused animals.
Prince says Carey-Costa is a screenwriter, journalist, and has produced award-winning documentaries like “Tony’s Tale, Tragedy in Arizona,” which won eight national film festival awards.
The documentary is expected to film in Columbus County in late July.
Prince says the documentary will be given to local cable outlets for free to be used on their public access channel.
