Dog found shot to death, one still missing in Columbus County
COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a case of animal cruelty in the Whiteville area.
According to the sheriff’s office, on Saturday, a 70-year-old man who lives on Crusoe Island Road found the body of one of his small dogs in a wooded area behind his home.
The dog had been shot to death.
The owner told authorities that his two dogs have been missing for three days.
He has not found the other missing dog, a small white terrier.
