Dozens share Locks of Love on Valentine’s Day

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — On this Valentine’s Day, some folks in our area showed love with their hair.

Cape Fear Community College and Wilmington Early College teamed up today with Locks of Love, a non-profit that provides wigs to financially disadvantaged children suffering from medical hair loss.

Children and adults came out today to donate hair up to 10 inches long, including CFCC student Tara McSweeney.

“To help the kids that don’t have hair,” McSweeney said. “I mean my hair will grow back. They can’t really do anything about theirs, so it was for a good cause.”

At least 50 people were expected to come out today to support Locks of Love.
