Easley places another food bet on Tar Heels
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Another year with another national championship on the line means another food bet for Governor Easley.
North Carolina faces Oregon State in a best-of-three championship series at the College World Series beginning tomorrow in Omaha, Nebraska.
Easley today bet Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski that the Tar Heels will prevail. On the line is a pound of barbecue, a bottle of barbecue sauce and a pint of slaw from both Wilber's Barbecue of Goldsboro and the Barbecue Center of Lexington. There's also a case of Cheerwine thrown in.
Kulongoski is countering with an offer of a basket of products made in Oregon, including a sampling of Pacific seafood, local cheeses, craft beer and hazelnuts.
North Carolina beat Rice for the second straight night on Thursday to advance to a showdown with the Beavers for the second year in a row.
