The art of wax-resist egg decorating dates back to the pre-Christian era and was nearly lost over time.
It has enjoyed a resurgence since Ukrainian Independence in 1991 which came with a renewal of interest in the preservation of traditional designs, symbolism and history.
Shane Fernando shows how to use beeswax to “write” designs onto fresh eggs and create one-of-a-kind decorations for your Easter table.
The process continues alternating wax with dye until the entire egg is covered in wax and finally wiped clean to reveal colorful and intricate designs.
