Eleanor Health opens addiction treatment center in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — There has been a steady rise of mental health issues and substance misuse around the Cape Fear over the past several month. A local clinic is stepping in to help.

Eleanor Health recently opened a new clinic on Shipyard Boulevard with the goal of helping people struggling during the pandemic.

They say the clinic has been an increase in patients recently looking for help. North Carolina saw 648 opioid emergency room visits last November alone, further highlighting the need for the clinic in the area.

“There’s no better time than the present to open up our clinic on Shipyard Boulevard here in Wilmington,” Clinic Manager Candace Harris said. “We’re able to provide telehealth access care and in clinic care to support those who are in need.”

The clinic launched virtually on November 30 and plans to fully open in person by mid-February.l
