Enchanted Airlie starts taking shape
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — As Thanksgiving nears, the preparation for one of the area’s best-known holiday events begins. Enchanted Airlie is starting to take form, as workers were up early planting 400 red, pink and yellow poinsettias at Airlie Gardens.
Along with the plants, light show and Santa Claus, the gardens also feature a Christmas-themed Lego village.
“We always have something new every year, so you can keep coming back and still be excited that you’re going to have a few surprises,” Airlie Gardens Donor Relations Director Janine Powell said. “We have many families who this is the only Santa Claus they’ll come visit, so they come year after year. So Enchanted Airlie is really a Wilmington tradition.”
Enchanted Airlie starts Friday, November 23, and runs until December 22.
