Escaped inmate from Robeson Correctional Center caught
LUMBERTON, NC (WWAY) — Corrections officers and Robeson County Sheriff’s deputies have captured an inmate who escaped from Robeson Correctional Center this morning.
Investigators say they found Shanendoa Hunt at about 10:30 a.m. at a mobile home off Pittman Road near Lumberton.
Hunt is being returned to state prison and will face charges for felony escape.
Hunt is serving an eight-year sentence for multiple convictions of breaking and entering, along with a conviction for misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon.
He was scheduled for release in September 2015.
Robeson Correctional Center is a minimum-security prison housing about 270 adult male inmates in Lumberton.
