FAA confirms laser strike reported during a flight in Pender County

PENDER COUNTY, NC— Someone pointed a laser at a plane flying above Heide Trask High School in Rocky Point.

The FAA confirmed it happened April 5 around 9:45 p.m. A pilot of a single-engine cessna reported a purple laser was pointed at him. According to the sheriff’s office, a member of highway patrol went to Heide Trask, but no one was there.
