Families gather at Thalian Hall to honor Disney legend Margaret Kerry
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) –Families filled Thalian Hall on Saturday to celebrate the life and legacy of one of Disney’s most beloved performers.
Moviegoers grabbed popcorn and settled in for a special screening of the 1953 animated classic “Peter Pan”, held in honor of Margaret Kerry, the live-action reference model whose movements helped animators bring “Tinker Bell” to life.
Before the film began, audiences were treated to rare behind-the-scenes footage showing Kerry performing the poses and movements that inspired Disney’s iconic fairy.
The screening also featured an exclusive, never-before-seen video of Kerry introducing “Peter Pan” to a Thalian Hall audience. The recording marked the final time Kerry appeared on camera before her death earlier this year.
A second screening of “Peter Pan” is scheduled for Sunday evening
