Fatal crash in Monkey Junction shuts down part of Carolina Beach Road
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — In New Hanover County, a fatal collision shut down part of Carolina Beach Road on Tuesday evening.
According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 7:15 pm in the Monkey Junction area in front of New Hanover County Fire Rescue Myrtle Grove.
Witnesses say the crash involved an e-bike.
State Highway Patrol and the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office were on the scene, while drivers were diverted south through the New Hanover County Fire Rescue’s parking lot.
Highway Patrol confirms the fatality involved an adult male, but their identity has not been revealed at this time. The road reopened around 9:20 pm.
