FedEx manager in NC accused of taking packages

FAYETTEVILLE, NC (AP) — Detectives with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Detectives have charged a local Fed Ex facility manager with taking packages, some of which contained iPads.

The sheriff’s office said Monday that 44-year old Kimberly Devore of Fayetteville is charged with embezzlement and possession of stolen property.

Investigators said a number of packages, including two containing iPad Mini tablets, were sent to the Fayetteville location, but were never delivered.

The investigation also determined that the iPad Minis were sold last December by an online store operated by Devore.

Devore has been released from the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $5,000 unsecured bond. It’s not known if she has an attorney.
