FEMA opens temporary help center for Irene victims

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Two months after Hurricane Irene swept along the Cape Fear Coast, FEMA is back in Pender County this weekend to help storm victims.

The FEMA Mobile Recovery Center is open in Hampstead through Saturday to help people who had property damaged during the storm back in August. The center is at the Hampstead Annex at 18676 US 17. Today it’s open until 6 p.m. and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday.
