Fieri tastes ropa vieja, sancocho at Ceviche’s

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The first episode of “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” to feature a Wilmington restaurant aired Friday, featuring Panamanian-inspired Ceviche’s, 7120 Wrightsville Ave. in Wrightsville Beach.

Guy Fieri was seen at six restaurants in January filming for the Food Network show ahead of his charity luncheon for the Girls Leadership Academy of Wilmington at The Country Club at Landfall.

While Ceviche’s is known for its ceviche selection, fried plantains and seafood specialties, Fieri went straight for two Panamanian classics to bite into it.

Owners Hunter and Laura Tiblier were told Fieri would be tasting one of his favorite dishes, ropa vieja, and sancocho.
