Crews still battling fire, Prospect Road back open

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Several fire departments are fighting a fire in the Ash community of Brunswick County.

It started around 12:30 off Prospect Road.

Neighbors say it started from a controlled burn.

Some homes were evacuated and Prospect Road is closed.

Neighbors also tell WWAY the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office told them the fire jumped Prospect Road.
