FIRST ON WWAY: Navassa Police officer shot at through patrol car

NAVASSA, NC (WWAY) — Officials are investigating after a Navassa Police officer was shot at while in his car.

According to Sgt. Scott Perez with Navassa Police Department, it happened on Daniels Road near Cedar Hill Road around 11 a.m. Sunday.

He told WWAY that Cpl. Thomas Cutler was sitting in his patrol car with the windows down when a gunshot went through his laptop and out the other side.

Sgt. Perez said the officer was not injured. He said the gunshot came from a wooded area.
