FIRST ON 3: BSL man in hospital after police standoff
BOILING SPRING LAKES, NC (WWAY) — A Brunswick County man will likely face charges after a standoff with police last night in Boiling Spring Lakes.
Police Chief Emmett Ballree says an officer responded to a domestic call at 11 Shelby Road. When the officer arrived, Leroy Jolly barricaded himself in the home and threatened to hurt himself and officers.
After more than 30 minutes of negotiating Jolly surrendered. Officers took him to Dosher Memorial Hospital in Southport for mental and physical evaluations.
