Fitness center, artisan marketplace coming to Leland’s Harrington Village
LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Two more businesses are coming to Leland.
According to a news release, Sandalwood Shoppes and Axis Fitness + Training will be key tenants of Harrington Square, the commercial component of Harrington Village in Leland.
At Sandalwood Shoppes, local entrepreneurs and artisans will fill the 60 retail vignettes with an array of merchandise from gifts, apparel, jewelry and coastal décor to candles, essential oils, clocks and more. There will also be monthly events held there.
“After 25 years in retail at Macy’s and opening several Target locations in New Jersey, I felt it was time to go out on my own. I chose Harrington Square in Leland after studying retail surveys and seeing the growth. I believe good things are happening here,” Joan Pacifico, owner of Sandalwood Shoppes, said in the news release.
This will be the third area location for Axis Fitness + Training, which offers group and personal fitness. They use technology to track progress and heart rates.
“We are excited about the opportunity to be a part of the Harrington Square project. It’s going to be a beautiful location and the Leland market shows a lot of promise. Our team is just grateful the community is responding to what we are doing in such a positive way,” said Mike Barnhart with Axis Fitness + Training
Harrington Village is a 20 acre mixed-use campus of 13 buildings at the corner of Village Rd. and Lee Dr.
The residential portion includes 10 apartment buildings with a clubhouse, pool, and other amenities. Harrington Square encompasses the ground floor of the three front-facing 4-story buildings in Harrington Village, offering about 30,000 square feet of retail and office space for shops, businesses and restaurants.
