Former Miss North Carolina USA files lawsuit against pageant organizers over defamation
NORTH CAROLINA (WWAY) — Brittany Boltinhouse has filed a lawsuit against the Miss USA and Miss North Carolina USA pageant organizers, following her title being stripped earlier this month.
A Blaize Productions, the organizer for the Miss North Carolina USA pageant, released a statement earlier in August, later citing old social media posts Boltinhouse made from 2017 and 2019, containing racial slurs.
In the 79-page complaint, Boltinhouse’s legal team did not deny her social media posts through the years. Instead, they allege organizers conspired to replace and defame her because she is *quote* “a conservative Christian.
The complaint notes her support for conservative figures including President Donald Trump, Charlie Kirk, and Andrew Tate, as well as criticizing former President Joe Biden’s Transgender Day of Visibility. The document goes on to claim organizers made Boltinhouse appear as a “racist, homophobe, transphobe, and intolerable bigot to be shunned from public life.”
Boltinhouse was crowned Miss Wilmington and was supposed to take the stage at the 75th annual Miss USA pageant on August 27. Runner-up Myla Hadley will compete instead at the national pageant.
Pageant organizers have not publicly responded to the lawsuit.
