Free Dump Week in Brunswick County coming soon

BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) — Brunswick County residents can dispose of any thing except household trash and new construction debris free of charge during Free Dump Week.

Metal, tires, electronics, latex paint and yard debris can be taken to the Brunswick County Landfill and put in their designated areas.   You must show proof that you live in Brunswick County.  The landfill is located at 172 Landfill Rd NE, in Bolivia.  They are open Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm.

The event is April 10-15th.

Commercial vehicles will be charged normal tipping fees.

There is also a Household Waste Collection day scheduled for April 15th.  This will be held at Shallotte Middle School at 225 Village Road from 9am to 12pm.  It is also free for people who live in the county.

Items being accepted include non-latex paints, stains, insecticides, herbicides, household cleaners, pool chemicals and aerosol cans.  All items must be labeled.

Items not being accepted include ammunition, radioactive materials, smoke detectors, infectious or biological waste, explosives, shock sensitive materials, and non-household materials.
