In the meantime, some regulars at Carowinds say they can’t wait for that to happen.
“They were definitely disappointment about it being shut down,” said Chase Gamble, who takes kids from his art school to Carowinds every year.
He says Fury 325 and Thunder Striker are their favorites.
“We just noticed that shutting those two rides down, it made the other lines a lot longer,” Gamble said.
Carowinds parent company Six Flags shut the two rides down, and seven others earlier this month, after a 42-year-old man was thrown from the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags over Georgia.
Online records showed the Carowinds rides and Goliath have the same manufacturer.
This weekend Six Flags announced it will add seat belts as an additional restraint to Goliath and two other coasters. It says both Fury 325 and Thunder Striker already have the seat belts, which appear to be seen in a picture posted on a Carowinds Facebook fan page.
That statement from Six Flags said it won’t reopen a ride until the necessary work and reviews of that ride have been completed.
