General Assembly extends film incentives, heads home

RALEIGH, NC (WWAY) — Before adjourning their session, state lawmakers gave final approval to extending film incentives today.

Rep. Carolyn Justice (R-16th District) Rep. Danny McComas (R-19th District) slipped it into what’s called the Technical Corrections bill last night. The move extends the current tax credit through the end of 2014. It was set to expire at the end of 2013. It is rumored the incentives could help bring “Captain America 2” to the Tar Heel State.

The bill now heads to the governor to sign or veto.
