Getting a TUFF workout

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Working out is incredibly important, especially for those with disabilities.

But a new program started in Wilmington to help that.

“Train us forward fitness” or TUFF is an adapted physical activity class for people with and without disabilities.

The program incorporated dance, fitness, and yoga classes taught by people with disabilities.

It is meant to promote a sense of community, especially for those with disabilities.

“We’re trying to get these individuals and not only get adaptive personal training for them, group training and maybe partner training but we’ll get them to actually teach classes to the community. So we’re getting more of the community involved and trying to get everyone a chance to teach and maybe make it a career for them,” Jordan Weber, a board of directors member, said.

If you’re interested in attending one of these classes, go to Matt Skelly Training. The classes are every Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
