Getting married? Orbitz says NC’s best wedding spot is in Wilmington
NEW HANOVER COUNTY (Star News) — Orbitz believes the best place for a trip down the aisle in the Tar Heel State is right here in the Cape Fear region.
The Star News reports Airlie Gardens has been named the best place to get married in North Carolina by the online travel source, according to a release from the county Thursday.
Orbitz selected the county-owned and operated park as part of a post that identified the most picturesque place to get married in each of the 50 states.
In the post, Orbitz said of the New Hanover County-run gardens, “Airlie Gardens, with its stunning Southern coastal garden setting in Wilmington, North Carolina, is a combination of formal gardens, sculptures, wildlife and views of Bradley Creek.”
Each year, Airlie Gardens hosts more than 50 weddings, from small to large ceremonies and receptions. According to its website, a wedding at Airlie Gardens can accommodate up to 300 people.
