Grange picked to fill out Catlin’s NC House term

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A woman already on her way to serve part of New Hanover County in Raleigh looks to be headed there sooner than originally expected.

Last night the New Hanover County Republican Party Executive Committee picked Holly Grange to finish out the term of Rep. Rick Catlin in the 20th House District. Catlin officially stepped down from his office earlier this month. He announced last year this would be his last term in the House.

In March, Grange defeated Tammy Covil in the Republican primary for the seat. With no Democrat filing to run, Grange was then  representative-elect for the 20th District.

The GOP Executive Committee’s nomination now goes to Gov. Pat McCrory for approval.
