Hansbrough and Lawson coming back to UNC for next season.

CHAPEL HILL (AP) — They're staying.

Tyler Hansbrough and Ty Lawson are returning for the 2007-2008 season at North Carolina.

Hansbrough says he's not ready to play in the NBA and says he's looking forward to improving his team and individual game under coach Roy Williams.

Lawson's announcement also came during the basketball banquet at the Dean Smith Center last night. At first, the point guard said he was leaving for the NBA. His announcement was followed by dead silence.

Then Lawson said he was "just playing" and would return for his sophomore season. The crowd of about a thousand cheered.

Shooting guard Wayne Ellington announced earlier this week that he was staying, but there's no word on what ACC rookie of the year Brandan Wright plans to do.
