HAPPENING TOMORROW: Medication disposal event

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover Regional Medical Center is holding a medication disposal event Saturday.

You can bring your unneeded and expired medications to be disposed of in a safe and convenient manner.

It’s from 9:00 a.m. To 2:00 p.m. at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Medical Mall located beside the main hospital campus.

Hospital officials say having unnecessary medications in the home can be a hazard. Old medications could be confused with current medications; children could be poisoned by them; and pets could be harmed if they ingest medications dropped and not picked up. In addition, improper disposal of medications can have an adverse effect on the environment.
