High-speed chase ends well for police

WILMINGTON — A high-speed chase has ended well for Wilmington Police.

Police say a suspect driving a vehicle that may have been stolen led police until he crashed the car into a utility pole on Seventh and Chestnut Streets.

The suspect then ran. Witnesses say the man was armed. He made it about half a block, then holed up at 217 MacRae Street.

NewsChannel 3 was the only crew on scene when police were able to talk him out and safely take him into custody.
