Historic Wilmington House named Number 1 bed and breakfast in USA TODAY readers’ choice contest

Wilmington, NC (WWAY) — A historic Wilmington bed and breakfast has earned the top spot in a national readers’ choice contest for the third time in four years.
The C.W. Worth House Bed & Breakfast was named the Number 1 Best Bed and Breakfast in the 2026 USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, according to the Wilmington and Beaches Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The inn also ranked No. 1 in 2023 and 2025 and placed fourth in 2024.
Located in a Queen Anne-style home dating to 1893, the C.W. Worth House is Wilmington’s longest-operating bed and breakfast. Innkeepers Jeff Mason and Jennifer Blomberg purchased the property in February 2022 and later renovated the home.
The property is located about three blocks from the Wilmington Riverwalk.
“Winning the number one spot again this year — and staying at the top every year since 2023 — is an absolute thrill and an incredible honor,” Mason and Blomberg said in the release.
Nominees for the USA TODAY 10Best awards are selected by panels that include editors and contributors from USA TODAY and 10Best, as well as other experts. Winners are then determined through online public voting.
Kim Hufham, president and CEO of the New Hanover County Tourism Development Authority, said the recognition brings national attention to Wilmington’s bed-and-breakfast industry.
