Holiday Train Expo rolls back into Independence Mall
The event returns after being canceled last year for the COVID-19 pandemic.
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Kids of all ages will marvel at nearly two dozen trains as the Cape Fear Model Railroad Society Annual Holiday Train Expo returns this holiday season.
Nine different layouts in seven different scales from G (large) to Z (tiny) will be the perfect way to kick your holiday spirit into gear. The event returns after being canceled last year for the COVID-19 pandemic.
Society Secretary John Rhodes says, “we’re excited to be back, bigger and better than ever.”
The trains will be running all the time with different tracks, sizes, push button displays, and more. There is also the Polar Express and Thomas’ Castle for the young and young at heart.
Check out the show at Wilmington’s Independence Mall near Dillard’s department store. It opens Friday and runs every weekend from noon until 5 p.m. through the end of the year. Tickets sold at the door. Adults $6, Children 2-12 $4, and under 2 are free.
