Hundreds tie up their laces to Run for the Ta Tas
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Nearly 1,000 people put on their running shoes for Wilmington’s Annual Run for the Ta Tas 5K Race and 1-Mile Walk Saturday.
The event was a chaser race where women get to start first followed by the men exactly two minutes and 30 seconds after, giving the race a boys chase girls kind of feel.
Organizer Michelle Hackman said putting on events like this is one of the ways she gives back to the community.
“As runners we go out there we work really hard, we train really hard. We have our own personal goals.” Hackman said, “But while we get to have our own personal goals and reach those goals, at the same time we get to give back to the community because all of our registration fees go back to different charities.”
Run for the Ta Tas benefits three charities in the Cape Fear including Love is Bald, The Pretty in Pink Foundation, and The Pink Ribbon Project.
