I AM HERD Mustang Sanctuary to host third annual equine expo in Lake Waccamaw

LAKE WACCAMAW, NC (WWAY) — Horse lovers and families are invited to a three-day event in Columbus County later this month celebrating the relationship between horses and humans.
I AM HERD Mustang Sanctuary will host its third annual “Celebration of the Horse-Human Relationship” from Friday, Oct. 23, through Sunday, Oct. 25, at 215 Bill Thompson Lane in Lake Waccamaw.
The event, presented by Triple Crown Nutrition, will feature educational demonstrations, entertainment and hands-on learning opportunities for horse enthusiasts of all experience levels.
More than 15 equine clinicians will participate throughout the weekend, demonstrating horse-centered training techniques, including positive reinforcement, liberty training, trick training, bridleless riding and play-based learning.
The expo will also feature demonstrations involving horses and a donkey using talking buttons to communicate.
A highlight of the weekend will be the Evening Show on Saturday, Oct. 24, featuring horses and their handlers performing routines set to music.
The show will take place inside the indoor arena from 6 to 7:50 p.m., rain or shine. Gates will open at 5 p.m. for those attending only the evening performance.
Admission to the Evening Show is $15 for adults, while children can attend for free. An All-Expo Pass covering the three days of educational programming is available for $55.
