Jefferson Starship, John Waite coming to Wilson Center in February

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Jefferson Starship and British singer-songwriter John Waite are coming to Wilmington for a night of classic rock at the Wilson Center.

The concert is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 20, 2027, at 7:30 p.m.

Jefferson Starship was formed in 1974 by musicians including former members of Jefferson Airplane. The band’s current lineup includes founding member David Freiberg, drummer Donny Baldwin, keyboardist Chris Smith, guitarist Jude Gold and singer-guitarist Cathy Richardson.

The band continues to perform music from its catalog while honoring the legacy of founder Paul Kantner, who died in 2016.

Jefferson Starship will be joined by Waite, who is known for his work as the lead singer and bass player of The Babys.

Waite’s solo work includes the 1984 album “No Brakes” and the hit song “Missing You.”

Tickets for the performance at the Wilson Center are available through Cape Fear Community College’s Wilson Center.
