Jimmy’s Wrightsville Beach opens second location in Midtown Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A longtime Wrightsville Beach bar is expanding inland, with a grand opening celebration planned for later this month.
Jimmy’s Wrightsville Beach owners Jimmy and Keaton Gilleece have partnered with longtime Jimmy’s employee Jared Sales to open Jimmy’s Inland, a second location in Midtown Wilmington. The new bar is located at 3818 Wrightsville Avenue, in the space formerly occupied by Coat of Arms Lounge.
Owners said the new location is designed to carry over the atmosphere of the original Wrightsville Beach bar while establishing itself as its own neighborhood destination.
Jimmy’s Inland will feature live music, pool tables, darts and an arcade, along with the Jimmy’s Slushies that have become a signature offering at the beach location.
The new bar will also continue several traditions associated with the original location, including Carolina Panthers Sunday watch events.
Jimmy’s Inland is expected to serve as a gathering spot for UNCW athletics viewing as part of a new partnership with the university, and will take part in the Jimmy’s Bike Drive, an annual holiday season effort to collect bicycles for local children.
Jimmy’s Inland will hold its grand opening from 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30, at 3818 Wrightsville Avenue.
The event will include live music, food from Chef Nick Chavez of King Neptune Restaurant, along with prizes and giveaways. Owners said the celebration will give guests a chance to see the new space and meet the Jimmy’s Inland staff.
