Landfall Foundation distributes $830,000 to 68 regional nonprofits
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Landfall Foundation in Wilmington has distributed more than $830,000 to support local communities in 2026.
Dozens of representatives from nonprofits and schools serving New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender counties gathered for the foundation’s annual social event to celebrate the funding. Landfall Foundation President Denise Baer said the organization has awarded a total of $830,000 to 68 nonprofits this year, targeting support toward students and communities with the greatest need.
“It’s that young student that is struggling in school and might drop out, becomes an honor roll student, and participates in sports,” Baer said. “It’s a family that is not able to feed their children dinner at night to suddenly do that and have their children successful in school and life.”
In addition to direct program funding, Baer noted that the foundation also issued a $14,000 partnership grant supporting the Cape Fear Collective’s “State of Nonprofits” report.
