Lane closures scheduled on Heide Trask Drawbridge through Thursday
WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Drivers traveling to and from Wrightsville Beach should prepare for traffic delays this week as crews conduct inspections on the Heide Trask Drawbridge.
According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, bridge inspections will take place Tuesday, Oct. 20, through Thursday, Oct. 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 20-21, the westbound outside lane will be closed, with one lane remaining open to traffic.
On Thursday, Oct. 22, the eastbound outside lane will be closed, with one lane remaining open.
Drivers should expect delays and allow extra travel time when heading to and from Wrightsville Beach.
Motorists are also encouraged to use caution when traveling through the work zone.
