Leland firefighters respond to Wednesday morning structure fire

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Firefighters responded to a townhome fire in Leland on Wednesday morning.

According to the Town of Leland Fire Department, crews responded to the structure fire along with automatic aid partners.

First-arriving firefighters found smoke coming from the front of a two-story townhome located in the middle of a row of homes.

Crews began attacking the fire and were able to quickly bring it under control, according to the department.

The Leland Fire Department thanked the agencies that assisted with the response, along with Brunswick County Communications for providing updates to responding crews during the incident.

The department did not provide information about possible injuries, the extent of the damage or what caused the fire.
