LELAND, NC (WWAY) — The Leland Town Council is launching a new community engagement initiative aimed at creating open dialogue between residents and town leaders.

The series, called “Let’s Talk Leland,” will feature town hall-style forums designed to encourage informal conversations and direct interaction with leadership.

The first event is scheduled for Wednesday, April 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Leland Cultural Arts Center, located at 1212 Magnolia Village Way.

Brenda Bozeman and Leland Hyer will attend the inaugural forum to answer questions and hear feedback from residents.

“Let’s Talk Leland is about creating space for meaningful dialogue,” Bozeman said. “We want residents to feel comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas, and engaging with us in a way that feels approachable and transparent.”

The event will begin with an informal social from 6 to 6:30 p.m., followed by a facilitated question-and-answer session from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Residents can submit questions at check-in or during the event. Town officials say contact information can also be provided for follow-up responses to any unanswered questions.

Additional forums are expected to be scheduled throughout the year with other council members participating.
