Sixth graders travel to Bald Head Island for unique STEM education
LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Some sixth graders from Leland Middle School went on a trip today for some education outside the classroom.
The purpose of the field trip to Bald Head Island is for students to learn from barrier island botanists and get a stem lesson while they explore barrier island habitats.
It’s a trip all sixth graders from Brunswick County have taken thanks to a $30,000 grant the Duke Energy Foundation awarded to the Bald Head Island Conservancy.
