Leland seeking members for expanded Tourism Development Authority

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Leland is searching for people who want to serve on the newly-expanded Leland Tourism Development Authority.

The TDA meets monthly and works to promote travel and tourism by advertising and marketing the town to tourists and business travelers who may choose to visit Leland.

The Town of Leland will accept applications until June 10 for consideration by the Town Council at their regular meeting on June 15.

People involved with businesses or activities engaged in the promotion of travel and tourism are encouraged to apply.

At a meeting on Monday, town council passed a resolution clarifying the role of the Leland Tourism Development Authority and expanding the Authority’s membership from five members to nine members.  Council also appointed Mike Callahan as the Council Member representative on the Authority’s Board.
