Leland town leaders to discuss purchase of old VFW building

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — The Leland Town Council will be discussing whether to buy the old Leland VFW building. The building is up for sale after the VFW was consolidated with the Wilmington post. Town leaders say a Leland man suggested the town buy the building to be used as a veteran meeting place.

“The town has quite a few projects on going right now so stepping out and purchasing another building may no be what the council wants to do,” Town Manager David Hollis said. “But again I don’t know we will discuss it Thursday night and find out exactly what they want to do.”

The listing price for the building is $230,000 dollars. The town council will meet this Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
